Righi High School Presentation

Liceo Scientifico "A. Righi" is the oldest Scientific High School in town, established in 1923 and situated in the main building of Viale Pepoli, n.3 since 1940.

In the year 2003 Liceo Righi celebrated its 80th anniversary of its foundation through a varieties of cultural initiatives such as: conferences, seminars, exhibitions about "Creativity and Scientific Culture".

Recently Liceo Righi has got a School Branch in Via Tolmino n.7, not very far from the main building, to meet the increasing demand of families and students who want to study in this well-known and historical Scientific High School.

In this school-year 2007-2008 the students enrolled are 1354.

The teachers (called professors) are 114 and the office employees and janitors are 27.

The present Headmistress is Prof. Domenico Altamura.

The Administrative Manager is Mrs. Stefania Negrelli.

Plan of the School (Main Building)

The building is composed of four floors.

Ground-floor: two large gym halls; Headmaster's office; Deputy Headmaster's office; Secretarial Offices; Staff Room, Library (open everyday from 8.00 to 13.00), Chemistry Laboratory; Classrooms

First-floor: Aula Magna (Big Meeting Hall); Biology Laboratory; Computer Science Laboratory 1 and Computer Science Laboratory 2 (both with Internet facilities); Video Room; Classrooms

Second-floor: Linguistic Laboratory; Physics Laboratory; Classrooms

Third-floor: Classrooms.

Each floor is fitted with toilets for boys, girls and teachers.

The building is equipped with safety measures.
